Classwares

What’s new since October 18

Last updated

Here’s what went live on our beta site between October 18 and October 27, 2026.

New features

  • Free resources: sellers can post free resources, and teachers get them with one "Get it Free" button. Guests get a download link by email. Signed-in teachers find the item in their library. Sellers are told when someone downloads.
  • Clear purchase and refund emails: receipts show the price you paid, free receipts say "Free", and refunds send a confirmation to the buyer and a notice to the seller, both at the price paid.
  • Fair refunds: a refund always covers the exact sale at the price you actually paid.
  • Limits for free seller accounts: free accounts can have up to 15 free items, 100 active items and 50 GB of uploads, with clear messages when you reach a limit. Paid accounts have no limits.
  • Better store pages: a full-width banner with a cropping tool, a tagline and bio, a large personal image, and a tidy grid of your resources.
  • Easier resource creation: a redesigned create/edit page in clear numbered steps, with an (i) tip on every field, a "Cover Image" label, the thumbnail limit shown, and your saved cover kept when you come back.
  • Report an issue: problem reports now reach the Classwares team by email too.
  • The Become a seller page now has an info button next to the Free and Paid options. Each one opens a full page that explains what that kind of seller account means.
  • Full subject and topic list: the subject bar and the Subjects page now cover 31 subjects and 529 topics, and every subject is treated the same.
  • Tax codes for resources: sellers choose a tax code for each resource, with digital goods as the default.

Fixes

  • Search results now show every resource's cover image.
  • A cleaner cart: the header matches the new design, the extra category bar and leftover placeholder text are gone, and the layout and fonts are tidier.
  • Editing a resource keeps its file, and adding or replacing a file and then publishing now works every time. You can save a draft before picking a subject.
  • Deleting a resource that people have already downloaded for free now works, and they keep access to what they downloaded.
  • The seller dashboard's Published count includes only visible listings, and "hide from marketplace" stays the way you set it.
  • Sellers whose email address contains a "+" can open their seller desk again.
  • Missing cover images on drafts and on high-resolution screens now load.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars throughout.
  • Terms of Use and Privacy Policy match the current legal text.
  • Logos in Classwares emails now show up correctly in every inbox.
  • Passwords must now be at least 12 characters everywhere you set one, not just on the sign-up form.
  • Cart items now line up at a consistent width, with tidier fonts.
  • Storage limit messages show KB or MB when the limit is under 1 GB, so small limits no longer read as 0 GB.
  • The cart's Undo strip now appears when you remove an item, and the refund note is shown once instead of twice.
  • Search result cards have more room on wider screens, so titles and prices no longer look cramped.
  • Uploading a file bigger than your whole storage allowance now shows a clear message instead of an error page.
  • Subject filters now find the right resources even after a subject is renamed.
  • On phones, the sticky bar on resource pages no longer covers the header and the cover image.
  • Tags you add while creating a resource now save reliably.
  • The resource type list now offers 13 resource types instead of only "Digital Download".
  • The preview PDF on a resource page now opens for visitors and signed-in buyers, and a missing preview shows a short, clear message instead of an error.
